I am comparing our character Tom with Donnie from Donnie Darko. Both characters are similar as they are teenage boys who are suffering from morbid forms of mental illness. They both represent ethnicity and gender similarly in that they are both caucasian males, and age as they are both teenagers. In these shots, they are displaying a certain look of dismay albeit in different backgrounds. Tom is in a darkened kitchen looking shocked as he witnesses a sudden illumination at the door and he begins to panic. Donnie's scene takes place in a bathroom where he is perplexed by a mirror which seems to liquefy as he touches it, and he sees the ominous rabbit who torments his psyche throughout the film, Frank.
